A handcrafted pewter box created exclusively for Collection I: Roma

Drawing on the pragmatism of Roman material culture, this pewter box reflects a world in which objects were made first and foremost to be used and to last. Its weight and utility are balanced by the character of the material itself, allowing function and form to coexist. Each box is handcrafted for AVM at a local foundry in Rhode Island. The marks and subtle irregularities of the making process are intentionally allowed to remain, meaning no two are precisely alike. Originally conceived to house the pieces of our inaugural collection, the box is an object in its own right, made to be kept, used and collected long beyond its first purpose.
