A collection of ancient Roman glass beads gathered into a sculptural 750 gold ring

The Vestige, Ring, brings together a curated selection of ancient green glass beads, each retaining the irregularities acquired over centuries. Rather than concealing these differences, AVM preserves them, with the subtle variation in colour, shape, scale and wear, central to the composition itself. Gathered together and set in 750 gold, they form a contemporary object from a collection of ancient fragments, honouring their individuality while giving them a new context.

Once created as objects of personal adornment and associated with ideas of renewal and eternity, these ancient beads have survived far beyond the world that made them. Gathered together nearly two millennia later, they become a testament to that endurance, their individual histories preserved as they begin another story.
